    Coldwater

Back-Up has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Coldwater Seafood Group, one of the UK seafood industry’s major players currently employing around 1100 people at its Grimsby sites. The great majority of these employees have already achieved their NVQ in Food and Drink Manufacturing Operations, levels 1 and 2, and any new staff will be offered the same opportunity.

Coldwater Seafood acquired a site at Redditch. Andy Hodson, site manager, says of the NVQ:

"We had a very successful NVQ programme being delivered at our site in Grimsby and we desperately wanted to replicate our achievements here at Redditch. We got in touch with Back-Up and the result has been the implementation of the scheme throughout the factory. Although the project was voluntary, all our staff decided to take part and Back-Up delivered short NVQ presentations across two days, allaying any concerns they might have. The project coincided with one of our crucial BRC audits. The ability to demonstrate to auditors that each member of staff are appraised and assessed against each job proved invaluable... and of course, when two of our employees achieved a college award for their outstanding portfolios, we were absolutely delighted."
